Mission Statement
Founded in 2023, the Local 659 Veterans Committee was established to mentor all veterans and bring veterans’ issues to the forefront of the IBEW.
The efforts of this committee bring together the house of labor, the veteran community at large, IBEW members who are veterans, and local union leadership to improve lives in the community and the livelihoods of the IBEW workforce.
Local 659 Veterans Committee seeks to facilitate and connect with community organizations to recruit and promote the hiring of veterans within the electrical industry. Local union committees can provide the means for educational and social activities to strengthen the connections between military IBEW members, encourage committee members to be more fully informed about economic and political issues that affect them, and foster their relationships with established union members and local union leadership.
To all members, if this mission statement speaks to you as a veteran, family member, or a member who supports our veterans, the veteran committee wants you! Come and bring your ideas to make this a successful committee to not only help our brothers and sisters but our communities as a whole.
There is a QR Code to Zoom into a meeting from wherever you may reside. Meetings are currently held on the last Tuesday of each month. This is flexible to change to get the most participation possible, so let’s come together and start the mission!
