ELECTRICIAN CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES

WINTER/SPRING 2023

 CLASSES ARE REGISTERED WITH OREGON AND CALIFORNIA

***AT THE TRAINING CENTER***

FEBRUARY 4       8:00AM - 4:30PM     2023 CODE CHANGES  (8 hours Code Change credit)

MARCH 11          9:00AM - 1:00PM     EVITP CERTIFICATION (Electrical Vehicle Infrastruture Training Program) [12 hours credit for California only, Oregon will not allow credit.] MUST BE COMBINED WITH THE ONLINE COURSE TO REVEIVE CREDIT. We will email a link after registering. - IBEW Members Only

APRIL 1              8:00AM - 12:00PM   1st AID/CPR  (4 hours Code Related credit)

APRIL 29            8:00AM - 12:00PM    CONDUIT BENDING WORKSHOP [4 hours Credit for California only, Oregon will not allow credit] - IBEW Members Only

                                                                             (4 hours Code Related credit)

AUGUST 24        5:00PM - 9:00PM      CONDUIT BENDING WORKSHOP (No C.E. Credits) (4 hours Credit for California Only, Oregon will not allow credit) – IBEW Members only

SEPTEMBER 17   9:00AM - 1:00PM      EVITP CERTIFICATION (Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) (12 hours Credit for California Only, Oregon will not allow credit) – IBEW Members only                                                                        

     ***ONLINE OVER ZOOM***

Must have a working webcam and microphone.  Smartphones and laptops generally have both.  The state's requirement for Continuing Education classes over videoconference is that participants remain visible on their webcam so the Instructor can monitor continued attendance.

FEBRUARY 14      5:00PM - 9:00PM      NFPA 70E-ELECTRICAL SAFETY (4 hours Code Related Credit)

AUGUST 20          8:00AM - 12:00PM    OREGON RULE & LAW  (4 hours OR Rule & Law)

Requirement for Continuing Education in Oregon:

  • General Journeyman: 24 hours, of which at least 8 hours must be Code Change and 4 hours Oregon Rule & Law.
  • General Supervising: 24 hours, of which at least 12 hours must be Code Change and 4 hours Oregon Rule & Law.
  • Limited Residential: 16 hours, of which at least 8 hours must be Code Change and 4 hours Oregon Rule & Law.

Testing for the California Electrical Certification Exam is now available in Medford. The new test site is at the RCC/SOU campus in downtown Medford. They currently have only one 2002 Code book available for testing, but will have more in the future.
